Mr Steven Gasztowicz KC

Steven Gasztowicz KC has a vast experience, built up over 40 years, in a wide range of areas, including property, planning and public law, commercial and regulatory matters, and Chancery work. He was appointed King’s Counsel in 2009 and is also a Recorder and a Deputy High Court Judge in both the King’s Bench and Chancery Divisions (the Business & Property Courts).

He is able to deal with matters crossing different fields, as well as those within individual practice areas. He works flexibly and quickly, providing clients with practical solutions to their legal problems. He advises on rights and liabilities, and on how best to press his clients’ position to achieve the desired outcome.

He appears before all types of courts and tribunals, including the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, High Court, county court and planning inspectors.

He is the author of the second edition of Scamell & Gasztowicz on Land Covenants – now covering, amongst other things, restrictive covenants, positive covenants, and planning obligations – which has been a leading work on the subject since its first publication in 1996.

He is also a qualified arbitrator, accepting work before arbitrators and appointment as an arbitrator. In addition, he accepts appointments as an Independent Expert. He can decide disputes quickly and efficiently.

He has extensive experience, and an ability to provide practical and authoritative advice to anyone seeking legal representation or advice in relation to property, planning, public law, commercial, and regulatory matters, or dispute resolution services. He accepts instructions from all types of client, whether individuals, companies, local authorities or others, including by direct access as well as through instructing solicitors.
