Miss Emma Burden

Emma was called to the Bar in 1994 at Lincoln’s Inn and holds an LL.B. (Hons) degree from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne.

Emma is a member of the Family Team and practices exclusively in Public Law, including cases with injuries of the utmost severity. She represents parents, Guardians, and Local Authorities in what are often extremely complicated, involved and emotive proceedings. Emma has completed her vulnerable witness training and is accredited to effectively question vulnerable adults and children in the Family Court.

As a senior and naturally gifted advocate, Emma applies a calm, measured yet robust approach that has earned her a reputation as a popular and highly respected barrister.

Emma can quickly comprehend the complex issues of a matter and offers unrivalled commitment to her clients and the case in hand.

In 2022 she was awarded Leicestershire Law Society’s Barrister of the Year recognizing her outstanding achievements and contributions to the legal profession.
